Baby Jogger City Mini Facts in Questions
Has anyone actually jogged with the Baby Jogger City Mini? I know the City Mini is not sold as a jogging stroller but am interested to hear if anyone has jogged with it, or if you know what it's lacking that means it might not be safe to jog with. TIA.

jracciato replied: "I have not used one for jogging. But a couple of the parents out our center have them and like them for everyday use. The wheels look a bit small for use as a jogging stroller. But it does have a turnable front wheel, which is a major plus in my book. Most of the jogging strollers I have seen have a fixed front wheel, which makes turning them and moving them around obstacles a pain."

Joovy Ultralight for 19month old and Newborn baby or Baby Jogger City Mini double? I will have a 19 month old active son and newborn daughter in a couple of months...i really don't want a huge double stroller but still need something for my young toddler son- he loves to walk when he can though! I'd love to be able to pop in the infant car seat when out and about so the ultralight is looking good- just not sure the seat is enough for my son? I also love the baby jogger city mini double (we have the single now for him) but it might be too much stroller as he gets closer to 2 years old- and the seats aren't that big on it (he's very tall)}. Thanks for the advice mommies!

Tiph replied: "http://www.macklems.com/phil-and-teds-dash.htm These are neat and are not too big so if he wants to walk he can or he can get in the back. or This one has a space to stand at the back. And has a tray so probably car seat ready."

I am looking into double strollers now for my 2 year old and 1 month old. Any advice? Do you have a double stroller that you would recommend? I'm trying to decide between the Maclaren and the Baby Jogger City Mini. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!

marrismelissa replied: "I highly recommend a mothers choice tandem pram. I have one it's excelent. Instead of being a double pram it is a pram with one seat in front of the other. They are much easier to use then tradition double pram. but befor choosing anything actually go to the store where you're going to by your pram and have a look. Make sure it is easy to push, comfortable, easy to fold and durable. good luck."

noot replied: "I was going to get one i have a 3 yr old and baby on the way in June.I have opted for a buggy board and a hip carrier for the toddler as she likes to walk a lot now x"

tues4406 replied: "i have the basically the same situation. in a couple of week will have a newborn and have a 2 yr old. i was researching on net today and this one looks good.=&subCatID=26 i asked for other people opinion and got one answer this is my question from earlier today.;_ylv=3?qid=20080302181405AA2E9Zl but i am going to go tothe shop and test the pram before i buy because i have an excellent single pram now (bertini) and have high standards."

greeneyes replied: "you need comfort and warmth for the baby make sure they can lay back and good back surport"

MirandaM replied: "Cosatto duet lite - kiddicare.com sell it cheapest at 189.99 inc raincover +free delivery - i have this one for my 2yr old and 8wek old and its fantastic, well masde, sturdy, easy to push, fits through doorways and into lifts and pokey hallways well, is easy to clean and looks nice too!!!"

shinelove replied: "I have a 23 month old and a 9 month old and I use the Graco Duoglider Stroller! It's WONDERFUL since it moves around so smoothly. You can put a car seat on the back seat since it reclines (as well as the front seat) and it also it has plenty of storage room on the bottom and cup and bottle holders."

kleedotcom replied: "Try Philandteds.com I am covering one of their double strollers. There is a way to use it so the baby can actually lay flat in the back to sleep (I've seen it done) as opposed to laying in the car seat."

What lightweight stroller is the best? I want to buy stroller with reclining seat, large canopy and adjustable foot rest. Does anyone have advice which one is the best? I'm thinking about chicco c5 or baby jogger city mini... but not sure. Thanks!

Christmas Panda replied: "mac-clarin somthing like that ..."

Tracy M replied: "That's a lot for a 'lightweight' stroller. What worked best for us was a really cheap umbrella stroller--but you can't put an infant in it. Even better though was babywearing. Cheap, convinient, awesome for baby's development, hands free living!"

Ariana replied: "Graco has a very nice line of lightweight strollers. I got one for my son and later for my daughter and it even had an infant carseat! They dont have adjustable foot rest though but I havent found it bothers the baby at all! I used it for two children and I've found it was great. "

Jude's Mama replied: "kidco lifestyle stroller. I love this stroller, it folds up like an umbrella stroller, but has all the features of a travel system."

dein_85 replied: "To be perfectly honest, the Jeep Cherokee stroller. At Wal-Mart. Really worth the money. It was only about $70 and it is lightweight, durable, totally parent friendly and functional for baby. My son loves his. It really has a lot of features for being so cheap. Here's a link, the price has went down since I bought it! It's only $45 now."

Strollers for a Baby and A toddler which one would you buy? Moms which one would you choose? It would be for a new baby and a toddler almost or at least 2 years old. The MAIN features that i am looking for are #1 Can fit into small places (like shopping) #2 Is somewhat light and small when its folded. #3 For both seats to recline and have sun shades OR in your opinion should i just put the little baby in a sling and push the toddler around? I have a nice peg perego stroller that i just cannot get rid of anytime soon. I have this one: and these are the double strollers i was looking at: #1 #2 #3http://www.albeebaby.com/maclaren-2009-twin-techno-double-stroller-black-with-black-frame.html any suggestions? what would you do? or buy and please tell why! Thanks! Edit: also the stroller that I ALREADY own has a step bar in the back for an older kid to stand on but i just think she would be too young to stand on it...not sure though..?

darcymc replied: "dont get the side by side one you will be in the way all the time and that is just rude"

Kristy replied: "I am going to say the graco one because i had one and absolutly loved it. It was easy to push and pile all my shopping bags underneath along with my diaper bag. I paid like 190 for mine at toys r us a few years ago and it was well worth it."

Allison replied: "i think you should buy #2. it looks pretty tough and the ones where the seats are side by side might not do as well when shopping or trying to walk around. good luck!"

lil_lol_88 replied: "I would suggest getting a sling or carrier because by the time your new little one out grows or gets too heavy to carry around, your toddler will probably be able to stand on the bar of your other stroller. This way you're not paying out heaps of cash for another stroller. And the right stroller that fits all your wants and needs is always so hard to find!! Anyways, just my suggestion on what i would probably do (this is what my sister in law did, or she would put the new baby in the pram and get or toddler to walk if it was a short trip.) Good luck though"

2275c replied: "The side by side stroller are very difficult to maneuver shopping. If you could put the baby in the sling and the toddler in the stroller you have, I think that's the best for now. However, if its cold by you, taking the baby from a warm carseat into a sling might be a pain. I'd go for the middle one out of the choices you gave if the sling idea didn't work."

Luv my kids 4evr replied: "I have a Graco double stroller and I absolutely hate it! It's hard to open and close by myself and takes up the whole back of my large sized SUV (Trailblazer). Not to mention it's heavy and only the back seat reclines flat, so whoever sits in the front has to sleep sitting up. And, forget a side by side - you're lucky if you can fit them through most standard doorways, or into the narrow isles at stores. The one I was going to use at first was a jogger type, and I was thoroughly disappointed when I found out that the frame didn't have individual supports for each seat so once the children started gaining weight they were constantly rolling towards the middle and pretty much rolling onto each other. The best one I've found so far that is completely worth the money is the Phil & Ted's stroller. It's revolutionary and although costly, is the best thing for two little ones since sliced bread in my opinion. "

NewMomma replied: "You are so in the same boat I was when I had my second (the oldest was 21 months when my youngest was born). Anyway, I had my heart set on the Joovy Ultralight but my aunt got me the Graco (#2) as a surprise. Here's it's pros...it will be perfect for the first few months as an almost two year old is still primarily in the stroller all the time, being able to use the car seat in and out for the infant is really nice, and you can cart around a lot of junk in it. BUT, here are the cons...It is SUPER heavy, I struggle every time I put it in and out of my car, a small SUV, and it does take up the ENTIRE back of it. It is hard to turn with both kids in it and all that junk. Your older child is going to grow out of it mighty quick - my son is now 2.5 and he wants to walk almost everywhere, doing this with the super long double is a pain. That being said, if we're out for a long period of time, he will still need a break and wants to sit. I also have a Pliko P3, and my son loves the stand on bar, but it only works if your younger child is sitting up in the seat, not in the car seat in the seat or laying down, as that blocks the bar. If your prone to long outings, say the zoo or museums or even a couple hour trip to the mall, your older child, if he/she is anything like my son, will want to sit for awhile too. The Joovy would be PERFECT, it's the sit and stand model (the older child has a large platform to stand on and a jump seat to sit on if they get tired or mom wants to strap them in), it only weighs 21 lbs and turns on a dime. Soooo, long story short, I would totally recommend the Joovy. I'm still trying to convince my hubby to buy it but he's strollered out. :) Right Start carries them if you want to try in person. "

Which side-by-side stroller is recommended for narrow elevator? I am looking for a stroller which is 29" (73cm) or less, as my home elevator is very narrow. I am expecting twins. I have been comparing the Phil & Ted E3 double and the Baby Jogger City Mini double. Which one is better?

Annie replied: "the baby jogger city mini double i live in an apartment building and they are great!!!!!"

double stroller question? Anyone have a Baby Jogger City Mini Double? I just bought one (have a 2 1/2 year old with another on the way in a month). I like it, I think...it is smaller than most doubles I have seen and actually fits through most doorways. I was wondering if anyone had experiences with it though - I wondered what shopping is like with it and if it was hard. After all, it's lightweight and thinner than most doubles, but the seats ARE still side by side.

Rae and Alex+4 replied: "yeah,I used to have one...I returned it....it's horrible...your better off getting a tandem...side by sides for children 2 different ages are a pain...return it and get a tandem :) ...."

ukcatherine78 replied: "Regardless of the age of the children, the ones that are one behind the other are much better!"

Which stroller should I get? Ok, so I've been going crazy with trying to pick a stroller over the past few months. I was down to the Graco Quattro Tour Sport or the Graco Metrolite. I had pretty much decided on the Metrolite just because it is soooo much lighter. (even though I'm concerned that it won't hold up as well) Then someone told me about the Baby Jogger City Mini. I'm thinking about that but one major concern that I have now is with the basket space. So does anyone have any opinions about what I should do between these two strollers - The metrolite and the city mini? Thanks!

Jasmine replied: "I haven't used any of them, but have heard great reviews on the Metrolight. I would play it safe if the basket space is an issue for you."

yo yo yo ♥ replied: "both my sisters use the baby jogger city mini... she loves it.. and ive used it b4 when i was watchin my nephew.. it turns and goes so nicely. and even tho the basket is small.. u can still fit some stuff in there and they also have these clips that can attatch to the stroller so you can put the diaper bag on it.. it works soooo well!!! get that one!!!!!!!!"

Is it totally rediculous to buy 3 strollers for our toddler and newborn? I have a 23 month old and am due in December. My 2 YO doesn't really like to sit in her stroller that much, but at the same time it is still totally necessary for zoo trips, mall trips ect. And we go on day/weekend trips a LOT and totally HAVE to have a place for her to sit then too. I have a baby sling that I can/will use. However when the baby is a newborn and it is winter time I am certianly not going to want to take them out of thier nice comfy warm car seat to place them in a sling ect, especially if they are asleep. I am planning on getting the baby trend stroller that the car seat straps into. I was also planning on gettin the Baby Jogger City Mini twin with a buggy board attachment on the back (they now make a car seat adapter for the mini). However I would still like to have an umbrella style for quick trips around town. The baby will be about 4-5 months before it is really warm here and I would be OK taking them out of the car seat and into something where they can just lay/sit. I was considering a sit and stand style however I want an actual seat for my 2 YO not just a bench, and I really hate the way they look. I was considering getting the city mini and then looking for a used Maclaren for when they are bigger. None of the baby stores near where i live has the City Mini for me to preview so I have to go off of reviews and stuff online. Is the city mini light/compact enought to compare to a Maclaren? And suggestions/reviews? I really do not want one of the Graco type doubles that are wider front/back as I have used them before and they are super hard to move around. From what I've read the city mini is almost small enough to so through a standard door. you just have to tilt it sort of sideways. well I already have 3 that we're/are my 2 year olds. The sinle one that came with the travel system that I hate. A really nice jogger one (but it's only a single) and then a single maclaren stroller. There are times I will still use the jogger and single maclaren but I also see totally good reasons to have the car seat adapter one, the city mini, and eventually the maclaren double. But my husband is DONE with me buying stollers!

Due July 1st baby girl #2 replied: "Lets see I have 3 of them for my little girl and my new one on the way lol. I have the little fold up one for quick trips, the one we got that the car seat clicks into when they are newborns then bought a double stroller for them both when they get a little older. lol you can never have to many strollers! :) have one for every situation and occasion! lol"

Xanden Wyatt's Mommy! replied: "i noticed last night that tori spelling had at least three for her two for probably the same reasons as you. so i guess if she could do it you can too :) your reasoning for all of them sounds fine anyways."

~JuliaGulia~ replied: "It doesn't sound too ridiculous to me. I have 2 strollers right now that were my 2 1/2 year old daughter's. A regular one that came with a travel system and a jogging stroller. I have bought a sit n' stand now for the new baby coming and something that my daughter can stand or sit on when she gets tired. She hates going in the stroller, but I want her to have something just in case. I will be using the sit n' stand at first and once the new baby gets older I will probably use the jogging stroller more."

mum_2_many replied: "i have 3! my 2yr olds pushchair, the baby has a puschair with carseat then i have the tandem for quick trips out 3s not crazywhen u have a toddler and new baby i think u will find most ppl do my 2 yr old will walk and loves walking but sometimes i need to get somewhere quick or the weather is bad so have to use the tandem"

pollymere replied: "I have three strollers! One is part of my travel system, one I got second hand which I use now my daughter is older and is a nice foldable but more substantial one with a hood and one is the umbrella, very lightweight with no shopping bag type. I would think that you need to but at least one new one - but maybe try to get it second hand? One where you can have the baby underneath (a tandem style) would be good as you could then put shopping there when the baby is older and put the toddler on a buggy board. This might be more practical than a system which takes your car seat as it is the size of a normal pushchair and would fit in the car etc but still be warm and flat enough for your baby. Phil and Ted make some great ones and some are three wheelers which makes them much more easier to move around. This might mean you could cut down your purchases to 2 as it would probably combine the work of the city mini with the maclaren. Best of luck!"

Glam Mommy replied: "Don't get any umbrella strollers. You really don't need them. I have 5 strollers and only 2 kids! I'm trying to get rid of the ones that are not in use on Craigslist. I have 3 umbrellas, an Evenflo one that a car seat can snap into (and I don't even have the car seat, I use Graco infant seats) and a side by side double stroller by jeep. My son is 3 and wants to ride in the stroller every once in awhile. The Jeep one is perfect because if the 3 year old doesn't want to sit, I use the extra seat to put my stuff in. Trust me, with 2 kids you will really want a double. It's so much easier when you take the both of them out. Even if you just take one kid, it's still nice because you have a seat to put your stuff in. I would suggest just a double and not all the other ones."

Ariana replied: "OHH I hear you!! When my son was born we got a Graco travel system and a jogger since my husband likes to run and we thought it'll be great to take our son out for runs, hikes, etc. Well my son never really liked the jogger :( And my daughter came when my son was a bit over 2, and just like your daughter he wouldnt sit much in his stroller either, but for longer trips, mall etc we needed one. So I got a Graco tandem stroller- bad idea! The thing was soo heavy, my son was uncomfortable, and I hated it. But my daughter was born in January! so we needed a stroller for the both of them! Soon we weaned my son out of his stroller and we got an umbrella stroller for trips. My sister had a baby not too long ago and she opted for the Chicco twin stroller, for her newborn and her toddler. It's amazing! I wish I had thought of that when my daughter was born!! It's very light, it's comfortable for both kids, and it's compact!! Good Luck!!"
